Heat transfer specialist Alfa Laval, Lund, Sweden, will
supply engineering and equipment to an edible-oil company in Indonesia. The $21
million order, scheduled for 2012 delivery, incorporates two new refining
production units as well as equipment to increase the capacity of two existing
facilities. When completed, Alfa Laval says they will be among the largest edible-oil
production plants in the world.
“We have seen a very strong growth in
edible-oil investments, especially in the fast-growing countries,” says Lars
Renström, Alfa Laval Group's president and CEO.
Increased living standards drives the
demand for edible oils, and worldwide demand has grown at an average annual
rate of approximately 6 percent over the past decade, according to Alfa Laval.
