The Manufacturing Institute and University of Phoenix have come together to help manufacturing employees and students advance, professionally and personally. The scholarships can help individuals earn degrees at University of Phoenix.

The Manufacturing Institute, Washington, D.C., and University of Phoenix, Tempe, Ariz., will award Manufacturing Institute Scholarships to workers and students hoping to complete their undergraduate or master's degree. Scholarship recipients may choose to attend University of Phoenix online or at a nearby location.

Successful applications must satisfy a number of eligibility requirements. They include:
  • Applicants must be either currently employed by a U.S. manufacturing company; a transitioning employee, looking to reenter the manufacturing workforce or seeking a career change into manufacturing; a community college student, graduating with a manufacturing-related associate’s degree prior to June 13, 2012; or a student completing a nationally portable, industry-recognized credential prior to June 13, 2012.

  • 3. Applicants must agree to be a national spokesperson for advanced manufacturing careers, if selected, for the term of the scholarship.

  • Applicants must complete the included FERPA release form to authorize the Manufacturing Institute to track academic performance and career trajectory.
