A maker of heat transfer equipment, Alfa Laval, based in Lund, Sweden, has received two large heat exchanger orders, one in Singapore and the other in China.

As a result of an order valued at $17.4 million, the company’s Packinox heat exchanger will be installed at a petrochemical plant in Singapore. The units will be used in a catalytic processing section for production of mixed xylenes, which are used for PET bottles and synthetic nylons. Singapore now is one of Asia’s leading locations for petrochemical production.

The other order, worth $7.9 million, is for compact heat exchangers at a petrochemical plant in China. They will be used in the condensation phase in the production of phenol, which mostly is used for plastics and related materials as well as cosmetics.
