A waste heat desalination system from Meco, Sugar Land, Texas, will supply purified water for industrial purposes in Ripon, Calif. The Model ST540 will produce 90 gal/min and utilize waste heat in the form of low pressure steam. The steam is the byproduct of a power generation turbine that provides power to the local utility's electrical grid. Meco’s waste heat units typically are used in cogeneration and offshore desalination applications.
