Bullers process control discs are used for thermal monitoring in ceramic applications. Model BPCD–HT is suited for firing/sintering temperatures between 2,192 to 2,822°F (1,200 and 1,550°C), and Model BPCD–VHT is suited for temperatures between 2,732 to 3,218°F (1,500 and 1,770°C). After the firing process, the operator just uses a micrometer to measure the outside diameter of the disc and note whether there are any changes to that diameter from the norm.
