In December, Ilan Toledano, vice president of sales and marketing for Wattco, testified on behalf of the Minister of Justice for the Government of Canada in an appeal between Proctor Silex Canada and The President of the Canada Border Services Agency.

Toledano’s testimony described the uses of immersion heaters in commercial and industrial applications, explaining the proper use and repercussions of improper use of certain immersion heaters. He explained the composition of flanged heaters, inline heaters and tubular heaters in the petrochemical and chemical industries, where immersion heaters are predominantly used. Toledano testified about the correct uses of certain Proctor Silex products and identified the key shortcoming of inappropriate use of the products in potentially dangerous environments for consumers.
