Gelest Inc. has formed a regulatory affairs and quality assurance group that is tasked with ensuring that Gelest continues to fulfill all applicable regulatory and quality assurance requirements pertaining to the company’s chemical manufacturing facilities and processes.

Under the co-leadership of Kevin King, executive vice president operations, who oversees regulatory affairs, and Joel Zazyczny, executive vice president silanes, silicones and metal-organics, who oversees quality assurance, the group will operate from Gelest's headquarters in Morrisville, Pa. The team includes Shelly L. Kearney, regulatory affairs manager, who is responsible for managing all chemical-specific aspects of regulatory compliance at Gelest. Also, Maya Kappil, quality systems manager, is responsible for managing and maintaining ISO-certified quality systems and for the development of procedures, work instructions and related training on all quality system documents. Finally, Stephine Tarpeh assumes a new role as environmental and regulatory affairs associate. Tarpeh will contribute to the planning and preparation of environmental and regulatory submissions, and assist others in steering products through processes that ensure conformance to government directives.
