Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers
APV gasketed plate heat exchangers are offered in sizes from 1.5 to 20" connection size for industrial markets. Features include glue-free gaskets that allows for fast gasket changeouts, and the gaskets can be reused after plate cleaning. Research has shown that exposure to the surfaces of certain metal alloys will kill cultured colonies of E.coliand L. monocytogeneswithin just a few hours at temperatures as low as 39°F (4°C). A heat exchanger with a proprietary fin design exhibits aggressive anti-microbial behavior, equivalent corrosion resistance to stainless steel, and similar heat transfer performance to standard coil construction. Designed for food processing applications where there is concern about possible food contamination with pathogens, the heat exchangers eliminate the need for coatings that can chip and flake off.

Exothermics SP provides high heat transfer effectiveness, produced by corrugating the heat transfer plates to achieve the proprietary sinusoidal wave pattern. The corrugated surface creates airflow turbulence as the air passes through the unit. Heat transfer is further enhanced by using a counterflow design. The heat exchangers include fully welded stainless steel construction for durable performance and maximum efficiency. Recovery Heat with Tubular Exchangers
Using Thermo-T, energy can be recovered and returned as process makeup air, used to preheat combustion air or used for plant or office heating. Designed to recover heat from energy-consuming processes up to 2,000°F (1,083°C), the shell-and-tube heat exchanger offers fully adjustable tube size and spacing as well as both single-pass and multi-pass models. Tubes are mechanically expanded into and then fully welded to the tubesheet, which provides a double-layer of protection to guard against cross-contamination.
Heat and Cool Low Pressure Gas Streams
Applications for the Series C include aftercooling, dehumidifying and heating rotary-lobe and multistage centrifugal blowers used in air separation and printing systems. The modular heat exchanger has removable cores via the front and back sides of the pressure housing without disassembly of the gas line. Pressure tests from a full vacuum to 50 PSIG are available. Heat exchanger housings can be built to contain several cores with separate or shared access panels. Mist eliminators also can be built into a housing to prevent condensed moisture from carrying downstream.
Coating Adds Corrosion Resistance to Carbon Steel Heat Exchangers
Company has partnered Saekaphen to apply its protective coating to line the interior tube surfaces of shell-and-tube heat exchangers. The patented process for lining straight and U-tubes bundles provides carbon steel with corrosion resistance equal to high-grade alloys, copper, brass and most specialty metals. The coatings also resist fouling and reduce maintenance costs. By providing a smooth, glossy surface for fluid flow, they lower pressure drop through the tubes with minimal effect on heat transfer.

It provides highly efficient heat transfer with either bare or low fintubes due to tight tolerances with baffles that minimize fluid bypass. The heat exchanger’s construction permits inspection and maintenance of the tube side of the bundle without draining the shell side or disturbing the piping.
