Tutco-Farnam, a manufacturer of air and surface heating products, will invest $2.5 million to expand its Arden, N.C., facility. According to operations manager Mike Armstrong, the expansion will generate 90 new positions in engineering, production and operations within the next seven years.
“We’re fortunate to be experiencing steady growth especially in a weak economy,” Armstrong says. “With the medical device industry growing and the reemergence of the auto industry, this increased demand looks to continue. This expansion puts us in a position where we are positively structured for the anticipated growth.”
Slated for completion in January 2014, the 21,400-ft2 addition will nearly double Tutco-Farnam’s capacity.
