Metcar Grade 1515 is designed to operate without lubrication in dry and dust-prone environments at temperatures up to 750°F (399¡C). The copper-impregnated, carbon-graphite material is suited for bearings and thrust washers in applications such as gypsum board dryers, kiln cars, ovens, dryers, electrostatic precipitators, furnaces and conveyors. The bearings are self-lubricating, non-galling, dimensionally stable and have high compressive strength. One documented use of the bearings is for electrostatic precipitators used on recovery boilers in large paper mills.
