Gaumer Process was founded in 1962 by John F. Gaumer to provide high quality electric heaters and controls to industry. More than 50 years later, the Houston-based company’s products enable customers worldwide — from Formula 1 race-car development to the latest generation aircraft carriers, from space exploration to offshore platforms — to satisfy the most demanding process heating requirements.
This IRED member grew steadily through the decades. By 1982, Gaumer Process had developed its own line of process heaters, controls and systems. Two years later, the company established a repair department and expanded its engineering, research and development, manufacturing and marketing capabilities, doubling the size of its facility. In the 1980s, Gaumer Process released several important innovations, including an illuminated manual reset button for heater overtemperature, a hot oil system with buffer tank and self-venting design, and external heat sinks on heater control panels. More recently, in early 2009, Gaumer Process added a 50,000-square-foot building to expand manufacturing space.
