Industrial combustion safety is the focus of two seminars planned for May.
On May 13 and 14, the Industrial Heating Equipment Association will host its safety standards seminar in Chicago. The two-day training event will review the most recent edition of the NFPA 86 oven safety standard, including updated requirements for PLC-based burner management systems, multiple burner systems, safety shutoff valves and calculation methods for lower flammability limits. The event will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel O'Hare, and the registration fee includes tuition; seminar materials and bound handouts; one printed copy of the NFPA 86 standard; and three networking events, including a reception and tow provided luncheons. The following week, Eclipse will host a combustion workshop at its training facility in Rockford, Ill. Planned for May 20-22, the workshop includes training on combustion fundamentals, equipment and applications as well as a design exercise and a plant tour.
