Valmet Corp. will supply a 22 MWth waste boiler unit to Nybro Värmecentral AB's new combined heat and power plant in Transtorp in the southeast of Sweden.
The 22 MW waste boiler will utilize bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) technology with Valmet's low emission control, Advanced Combustion Zone, and burn a wide span of household and industrial wastes. Valmet's delivery scope includes the entire boiler unit with auxiliary equipment such as fuel and ash system, erection, commissioning, training and startup.
The waste-fired power plant will account for about 70 percent of the annual heat demand in Nybro municipality, which is about 100 GWh. The new facility will double the electricity production from the current level of 20 GWh to 40 GWh. Start-up of the new plant is scheduled for the spring 2016.
