An electronic contract manufacturer, Advanced Manufacturing Service, Ronkonkoma, N.Y., has installed a new surface mount technology assembly line. With the new technology, Advanced Manufacturing expects to be able to offer makers of industrial controls, medical devices and equipment for laboratories, surveillance and communication a higher degree of versatility and upgradeability.
Advanced Manufacturing Service added the Heller Oven 1707, a SMT reflow soldering oven, and the Heller 1707 Mark III, a reflow system. The equipment allows for rapid response times and precise temperature controls, resulting in uniformity and high performance. The SMT process is now fully inline.
Other equipment on the line includes the Linescan Vision System 3, which will provide high performance component inspection and positioning. Hydra 4 is a new high-speed mount head that allows for highly accurate placement. ASYS Xact 4 screen printer can perform any kind of production demands within the electronic industry. Also installed was the Mycronic MY200, which allows Advanced Manufacturing Service to have a fully integrated solution.
