Air pollution control company Ceco Environmental Corp., Cincinnati, has acquired Emtrol LLC, a designer and manufacturer of fluid catalytic cracking and industrial cyclone technology. Emtrol’s technology provides solutions in product recovery, fluid bed applications, pollution control and environmental compliance for the refinery, petrochemical and chemical sectors, among others.

Founded in 1973 with headquarters in Long Island, N.Y. and offices in Katy, Texas, and the United Kingdom, Emtrol generates approximately $35 million in annual revenues, with approximately 70 percent of its business from international markets. The company’s president and majority shareholder, Robert Giuricich, its vice president, Anthony Schmitz, and the rest of its management team and 33 employees will join Ceco. Emtrol LLC and will become part of Ceco Environmental's APC group.

Giuricich will become the president of the Emtrol-Buell-FKI division of Ceco and will have leadership for the overall global cyclone technology business.
