Expanded Capabilities for Injection-Molding Ceramic ComponentsMorgan Advanced Materials has increased its capabilities at its Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-based site, which manufactures complex injection-molded ceramic components. The components are designed for use in the investment casting of turbine engine blades and vanes for power generation, pumps and valves, among other applications.

As part of the site’s growth, Morgan has installed equipment that will enable it to produce larger parts for industrial gas turbines (IGTs). In addition, the company hired engineers and managers to increase production, and it has implemented communication enhancements to improve tracking, shipping and delivery.

The company also has added equipment and automation in the past year, including a new X-ray room and an engineering and tooling laboratory.
