A powder coating and curing processes seminar will provide attendees with hands-on experience with powder coating equipment. Hosted at Alabama Power’s Technical Applications Center (TAC) in Calera, Ala., the one-and-a-half-day seminar is planned for October 6-7.

The agenda includes an introduction to powder coating processes, including cleaning and pretreatment, as well as an overview of powder coating materials, application equipment and booths, curing options, part movement, and advice for running an efficient system. Finishing industry professionals will provide the classroom training. Attendees will also spend time in Alabama Power’s technical applications laboratory viewing demonstrations and participating in hands-on training.

Attendees will receive the “Infrared Process Heating Handbook for Industrial Applications,” which was published by the Infrared Equipment Division (IRED) the Industrial Heating Equipment Association; “Powder Coating for Industrial Finishing Applications” training manual, published by the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI).
