Colfax Corp., Annapolis Junction, Md., acquired the Roots Blowers and Compressors business unit, also known as Industrial Air & Gas Technologies, from GE Oil & Gas. Roots has been renamed Howden Roots LLC.

Howden Roots manufactures blower and compressor technologies, including the rotary positive-displacement blower known as Roots Blowers. The new business unit serves industries such as chemical production, wastewater treatment, power generation and general industrial.

Howden Roots has a 279,000-ft² manufacturing facility in Connersville, Ind., as well as its headquarters in Houston. Sales and support teams are positioned around the world, including the United Kingdom, China and Australia.
