Large Methanol Plant Orders Controls, Safety Systems from Yokogawa
The Natgasoline LLC methanol plant in Beaumont, Texas, will use control and safety systems from Yokogawa Corp. of America. The facility, which is currently under construction by Orascom E&C USA, will have a capacity of approximately 1.75 million metric tons per year when it starts production in 2017, making it reportedly one of the world’s largest methanol plants.
Yokogawa, Newnan, Ga., will supply the Centum VP integrated production control system, ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system, Exaquantum plant information management system and Plant Resource Manager software package. In addition, the company will provide the engineering and delivery of these systems as well as support with installation and commissioning. Delivery is scheduled to be completed by August 2016.
