Bühler Group acquired German-based Hosokawa Bepex GmbH in a deal that expands the company’s chocolate processing capabilities.
Already a supplier of cocoa processing, chocolate mass production and molding equipment, Bühler expands its capabilities with the acquisition of Hosokawa Bepex GmbH. The company adds special processing know-how in enrobed or filled products such as bars, cookies, caramels and other confectionery articles. The acquisition also adds the potential to supplement the product portfolio of Hosokawa Bepex with other Bühler business in areas such as bakery and grain processing.
Hosokawa Bepex will be integrated as an affiliated company in the Consumer Foods business area of Bühler. Its site in Leingarten, Germany, will be expanded into a center of competence within Bühler’s confectionery unit. With around 140 employees, the company is a global plant supplier for making confectionery and bakery products.
