Org Chem Group, Evansville, Ind., appointed Charles (Chuck) Buis director of sales for the company’s antifreeze business. The company plans to expand its antifreeze business and Buis is expected to play a lead role in focusing efforts and supporting growth. Buis joined the company after serving in sales management roles with several oil distributors in the Midwest.
Vapor Power International LLC, Franklin Park, Ill., a manufacturer of boilers, steam generators and thermal fluid heaters, appointed William Chambers as CEO and president. Chambers served as interim COO for several months before being tapped for the CEO role. He replaces Robert Forslund, who left to pursue other interests.
Nationwide Boiler Inc., Fremont, Calif., a manufacturer of industrial rental boilers, package boilers, emissions control equipment and other power generation equipment, promoted Larry K. Day to president, effective January 1. Jeff Shallcross, who served as the company’s president since 1990 and was promoted to president and CEO in 2007, will maintain his role as CEO as well as his position on Nationwide Boiler’s board of directors. Also, William (Bill) Testa was promoted to director of sales. Testa previously served as the company’s business development manager, where he played a prominent role in building relationships and strengthening the company’s representative network.
Eraser Co., Syracuse, N.Y., added an online store to its website. Items for sale on www.eraser.com include fiberglass brushes and select replacement parts as well as consumable items such as Glo-Ring infrared heating elements, stripping wheels, stripping inserts and guards, fiberglass brush refills, wheel dressers and refills and blades. The service is currently only available for customers in the United States.
Fives Combustion was awarded a contract by Siam Cement Group to supply two Pillard NovaFlam burners to equip the cement kilns at the Taluang plant in Thailand. The customer selected Pillard NovaFlam technology, a multi-channel burner for rotary kilns for cement plants that is easy to adjust and user friendly and offers a high impulse efficiency and single air supply.
Ross Glendinning was appointed senior vice president for the Service Division of Alfa Laval Inc. in January. Glendinning is charged with driving consistent profitable growth and developing new sales opportunities for the service business of Alfa Laval in the United States.
Technifab Products Inc., Brazil, Ind., created a new CFO position and named Steve Short as CFO. Since 2002, Steve Short has served as Technifab’s corporate CEO and president of the Cryogenic Division. Doug Short, who has been in a leadership position with Technifab since 1994, will take over as CEO of the corporation and president of the Cryogenic Division. Doug Short served as corporate vice president of sales and marketing since 2002. In his new role, he will manage the vice presidents of sales and marketing, engineering and operations. Also, the corporate vice president of sales and marketing position will be filled by Dan Thompson. He was previously vice president of the Cryogenic Division and will continue to fill that role as well.
Maguire Products Inc., Aston, Pa., named Brian Sampson as sales manager for the United States. Sampson has management responsibility for sales agents and OEM distributors and direct sales responsibility for the company’s full line of auxiliary equipment for plastics processors.
