A high impingement air convection indexing conveyor oven will be used by an automobile parts supplier for “proofing” automotive air bag initiators. The system was designed, manufactured, tested and shipped by Infrared Heating Technologies, Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The industrial heating equipment includes a forced ambient-air cooler and controls system. Using the conveyor oven, the automotive air bag initiators are validated by heating them to temperature before cooling them prior to unloading. The production rate is approximately six air bag initiator parts every two minutes.
