Despatch Industries was presented with the “Technological Leading Company of PV Industry” award at the SNEC PV Power Expo in Shanghai, China.

The company was recognized for its PowerLock LID prevention tool. Light-induced degradation (LID), which reduces the efficiency of passivated emitter rear contact (PERC) solar cells by up to 6 percent after they are installed. LID has been an issue for solar manufacturers.

The tool, which integrates into Despatch’s metallization firing furnace line, reduces LID to around 1 percent. PowerLock uses LED lamps with a 20SUN maximum intensity to achieve the desired result in just 3.6 m.
