Fives will design, manufacture and supply a cold rolling mill for Stal Precision Stainless Steel Co. Ltd.’s stainless steel line in Shanghai’s Xin-Zhuang industrial zone in China. The mill will have a production capacity of just over 80,000 metric tons per year.

Stal is a joint venture between Allegheny Ludlum and Baosteel Group Corp. In an effort to increase capacity, Stal is building a new cold rolling workshop, which includes the cold rolling mill and a bright annealing line, which will produce ultra-thin stainless steels for high-end applications such as smartphones and tablet computers.
