Wisconsin Oven Corp., East Troy, Wis., shipped two industrial ovens to United Tool & Die Co. of West Hartford, Conn. An electrically heated draw batch oven with a pitted manual quench tank will be used for aluminum solution heat treatment of parts. An electrically heated walk-in batch oven will be used for aluminum aging and annealing of parts. Due to space constraints and a low ceiling, Wisconsin Oven designed both ovens with rear-mounted heater houses and recirculation fans.

The standard draw batch oven has a maximum temperature rating of 1250°F (676°C) and a work chamber measuring 3 by 3 by 7'. A guaranteed temperature uniformity of ±10°F at 500, 750, 900 and 1000°F (±5.5°C at 260, 399, 482 and 538°C) per AMS 2750E Class 2/Instrumentation Type C was verified through a nine-point profile test conducted in an empty oven chamber under static operating conditions.

The enhanced-duty walk-in batch oven has a maximum temperature rating of 800°F (427°C) and work-chamber dimensions of 6’ by 8’ by 5’. A guaranteed temperature uniformity of ±-10°F at 300, 550 and 800°F (±5.5°C at 149, 288, 427°C) per AMS 2750E Class 2/Instrumentation Type C was verified through a 15-point profile test conducted in an empty oven chamber under static operating conditions.
