The world’s first induction heating “cobot,” developed by Ambrell Corp., Scottsville, N.Y., debuted at IMTS in Chicago.
A cobot, or collaborative robot, is a programmable machine that performs a range of light industrial tasks and interacts safely and efficiently as it works hand-in-hand with humans in a shared process. Using this technology, Ambrell developed MAX, a cobot integrated into the induction heating process for optimized production flow, increased yields and greater uniformity.
Tony Mazzullo, president and CEO of Ambrell, said, “Using the MAX cobot heating solution, fast setup times, intuitive programming and lower safety requirements will reduce the amount of time and labor required to meet production targets.”
