A Gruenberg Steri-Dry system designed for laboratory animal science applications will be used for sterilizing animal habitat cages through the process of dry heat sterilization.

Thermal Product Solutions designed the dry-heat sterilizer, which has a maximum temperature of 400°F (204°C) and an operating temperature of 320°F (160°C). The unit utilizes a focused, forced-air convection airflow design that minimizes the laboratory’s process cycle time while maximizing product throughput capability.

The dry heat sterilizer does not require any water to operate. Its modular design means that individual modules can fit through most corridors, service elevators and doors. This allows for ease of transportation and quick assembly time.

The sterilizer was designed to utilize the processor’s existing racks and cages. The sterilizer will be used to eliminate pathogens on animal habitat cages in the laboratory.
