Fuel Tech Inc., Warrenville, Ill., received multiple air pollution control (APC) contracts totaling approximately $2.1 million from customers in China and the United States.
The company’s NOxOUT selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR) system was ordered by a customer in China for a coal-fired utility boiler. SNCR technology can help companies comply with more stringent NOX control requirements mandated by China
Fuel Tech also received orders from China for Ultra systems that will be installed on utility units firing coal, natural gas and solid waste being retrofitted with NOX reduction technology. The Ultra process provides safe and cost-effective on-site conversion of urea to ammonia for use as a reagent where selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is used to reduce NOX.
Fuel Tech will supply engineering, SNCR and SCR system equipment improvements and optimization to reduce NOX emissions for a company in the United States. An order was also received for a design study and engineering phase for SCR systems to be installed on multiple gas-fired units.
