Oven Designed to Cure Adhesive on Automotive Mirrors
An electrically heated spiral conveyor oven with cool down will be used to cure adhesive applied to exterior automotive mirrors.
Built by Wisconsin Oven Corp., East Troy, Wis., the oven has a maximum operating temperature of 392°F (200°C). When preheated, it has sufficient capability to heat 840 lb of glass and 1,200 lb of aluminum trays per hour at a normal operating temperature of 320°F (160°C), according to the manufacturer. The automotive components supplier required temperature uniformity of ±9°F at 302°F (±5°C at 150°C) for a minimum of 45 minutes.
The equipment was designed to specific dimensions to ensure all mirrors were cured evenly. In addition, a spiral conveyor design was implemented to both save on floor space and maximize the number of mirrors processed per cycle.
