The air-to-air heat exchangers used in the F-16’s environmental control system will be overhauled following the award of a contract to Wall Colmonoy’s Aerobraze Engineered Technologies.
The U.S. Air Force tapped Aerobraze for a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract for the F-16’s primary and secondary heat exchangers. The F-16 has been in service for more than 30 years.
High temperature brazing is used extensively in the heat exchanger manufacture and overhaul processes. Wall Colmonoy will call on its company experience with high temperature brazing and heat exchanger overhaul procedures in its work for the Air Force.
