Valmet will modernize a flue gas desulphurization (FGD) of PCC Rokita SA's combined heat and power (CHP) plant at its chemical site in Brzeg Dolny, Poland.

PCC Rokita SA is modernizing the flue gas system of three coal-fired boilers to meet future emission limit values. The project, which includes replacing key equipment and modifying the absorber design, is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2017. According to Valmet, it will extend plant life and increase capacity and efficiency.

In 1994, Valmet delivered a flue gas desulphurization – reportedly the first of its kind in Poland – to PCC Rokita SA.
