Lewco Inc., Sandusky, Ohio, delivered its ninth continuous process annealing oven to a tier-one automotive supplier. The oven will be used to anneal plastic automotive lenses at a maximum temperature of 220°F.
The process relieves stresses created during welding to avoid cracking or clouding of the lens during assembly. The parts will travel through three separate temperature zones while inside the oven: preheat, soak and cooling. Once they pass through the cooling zone, the parts are unloaded and packaged.
