Batch Oven Used to Preheat Aluminum Ingots
Baker Furnace delivered a gas-fired batch oven to a forging company. The unit will be used to preheat large aluminum ingots used to manufacture parts for the aerospace industry.
The work chamber is designed to withstand the impact of aluminum ingots weighing more than 3,000 pounds. Ingots are preheated to 1000°F (538°C). After preheating, the ingots are removed from the oven and placed in a forging press that forms the aluminum into a shape.
