Bühler broke ground for a new campus in Uzwil, Switzerland. Dubbed an “innovation campus,” the facility will include upgraded technology laboratories. It is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2019.
Bühler’s existing European technology laboratories such as its Bakery Innovation Center will be during the building process. The company expects the new building to bring together its network of partners (customers, startups, academics, apprentices or suppliers) and create a link to the technology laboratories.
When completed, the new campus will include an auditorium for up to 300 participants for large events. Another addition is a “maker space,” a media center and a co-working floor with open and secured spaces. In addition, a dedicated center for the apprentices will include several training rooms.
