Over the next decade, the manufacturing sector is expected to produce up to 3.5 million highly skilled, technology-based jobs. Concurrently, nearly 2.5 million manufacturing workers will retire by 2025. The trends will combine to create up to 2 million positions unfilled in U.S. manufacturing facilities and a skills shortage. To address these shortfalls, Rockwell Automation and ManpowerGroup have teamed up to offer 12-week Academy of Advanced Manufacturing (AAM) programs.

The AAM program celebrated the graduation of its first veteran graduates in late 2017. The program combines classroom learning with hands-on laboratory experience. Veterans are trained in Rockwell Automation’s facility in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.

In January, professionals from Endress+Hauser were added to the AAM curriculum as instructors for technology and instrumentation for monitoring and managing temperature, flow and pressure for machinery and equipment in industrial process industries.
