Bühler officially opened a manufacturing and research-and-development facility in Changzhou, China. The 200,000 m2 greenfield site, the latest addition to the company’s global supply chain and service network, will mainly serve the fast-growing animal nutrition industry as well as the grain logistics market.

The facility features a comprehensive animal nutrition R&D Application Center, which includes solutions for livestock animals, aquaculture and pets. It will serve as a major animal nutrition training center for customers and Bühler employees. One of four floors is devoted to the development of feed production processing technologies.

In other company news, Bühler and Microsoft committed to build an alliance that will increase the availability of safe food and enhance food integrity and traceability. The companies aim to roll out cloud-based solutions to eliminate contaminated grains and to rapidly introduce new services to improve the availability of safe and healthy food.
