The hybrid adiabatic cooling system is a freezeproof system that combines dry air cooling during the cooler months of the year with fluid cooling during the warmer months. It provides savings in water, energy and maintenance while providing dependable, safe process cooling, says the manufacturer. A water-efficient alternative to traditional cooling tower or closed-circuit fluid cooler solutions, the hybrid adiabatic cooling system pulls outside ambient air across coils to remove heat when the outside ambient temperature is cool enough. The fine-misting nozzles are only turned on when needed to reach a desired temperature. In addition to savings in water consumption, the system can reduce energy usage versus packaged air-cooled chillers. A closed glycol loop prevents freezing.
