Process equipment manufacturer Readco Kurimoto opened a testing laboratory at its York, Pa., headquarters. The facility, which includes machinery able to process up to 2,000 lb/hr, allows the company to conduct tests that simulate actual operating conditions using customer materials and formulations to verify machinery performance meets targeted goals.

Other equipment in Readco Kurimoto’s laboratory includes the company's continuous processor, designed for mixing multiple liquid, powdered or viscous materials in a single step, and the SC processor, used for converting powders into slurries or increasing the viscosity of slurries in a single step.

According to the company, Readco engineers can use the testing data to customize a continuous processing system to achieve pinpoint control over product uniformity, texture, color and other criteria.
