DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Co. opened a warehouse and distribution center at its manufacturing site in Loudon, Tenn. The facility will service the global market for Susterra and Zemea propanediol. It is designed to support the current capacity of 135 million pounds as well as the additional 35 million pounds of bio-based 1,3 propanediol coming online in mid-2019. DuPont Tate & Lyle also designed in capacity for anticipated future expansions.
Previously, only bulk shipments were fulfilled from the manufacturing facility while package goods were handled off-site by a third-party provider. The warehouse and distribution center allows for packaged goods such as pails, drums and totes to be directly filled, stored and shipped from the manufacturing site.
The team at DuPont Tate & Lyle expects the facility to create a streamlined approach to servicing global customers that require various packaging sizes.
