A 350°F (177°C) shelf oven, manufactured by Grieve, is being used by a manufacturer for storing bottles of powder in a free-standing rack at its facility. A 1,000-cfm, 1-hp recirculating blower provides horizontal airflow to the workload, and 18 kW are installed in Nichrome wire heating elements.

The shelf oven has 4” insulated walls and an aluminized steel exterior. Controls include a digital-indicating temperature controller, manual-reset excess-temperature controller with separate contactors and a recirculating-blower airflow-safety switch. The floor of the workspace is reinforced for 5,000 lb loading at hard points in the corners to support the company’s rack.
