An automotive company will use a walk-in chamber to thermally test the insulation used in interiors. The insulation will be subjected to different thermal conditions to test the R factor integrity.

The chamber, shipped by Tenney Environmental, maintains a relative humidity range of 20 to 95 percent in the temperature range of 68 to 185°F (20 to 85°C) limited by a 41°F (5°C) dewpoint. The room will be capable of achieving 185°F and 94 percent relative humidity.

The chamber includes a number of programs and steps. Tenney’s logic circuits automatically select the necessary refrigeration and heating capacities, as well as humidification operating modes, as required to achieve the desired chamber environment. Built-in limit alarms include high and low pressure for both refrigeration stages and high and low stage compressor safety module.
