Lewco Inc., Sandusky, Ohio, delivered two furnace cells to a manufacturer specializing in alloy-based materials. Each cell includes a 1600°F furnace and an automated loader. Each furnace is designed to process two 800 lb wire coils per batch. A rod overbend heater design provides great temperature uniformity and a fast heat-up rate. 

The furnace and loader are controlled by a PLC with a touchscreen operator interface terminal, and the system can be toggled between manual and auto mode. With auto mode, one press of a button controls the entire load/unload cycle. The automated loading system helps provide speed and efficiency to improve production and minimize furnace cold time.
