Rockmart, Ga.-based Miura redesigned its website to streamline the boiler-buying process by making it easier to access relevant information, locate a representative, receive an estimate or purchase a new boiler. User-driven quote forms allow customers to get detailed pricing on a new system based on their particular requirements. Wilmington, Del-based DuPont closed four clean water technology acquisitions. The companies being added to the DuPont Water Solutions segment include inge GmbH, Memcor, Desalitech Ltd. and OxyMem Ltd.
An ultrafiltration membrane business, inge GmbH was acquired from BASF. Its multi-bore PED ultrafiltration technology reportedly complements DuPont’s high flow PVDF membrane technology. The transaction included the business’ international workforce of about 150 employees, its headquarters and production site in Greifenberg, Germany, and associated intellectual property owned by BASF SE.
Memcor, the ultrafiltration and membrane bioreactor (MBR) technologies division, was acquired from Evoqua Water Technologies Corp. The acquisition is expected to broaden DuPont’s products for solutions membrane bioreactors, submerged and pressurized ultrafiltration systems, and other new applications. The transaction included a manufacturing facility in Australia and about 200 employees.
Desalitech Ltd., a closed-circuit reverse osmosis (CCRO) company, addresses high water recovery in market segments such as food and beverage, microelectronics and power.
OxyMem Ltd. develops and produces membrane aerated biofilm reactor (MABR) technology for the treatment and purification of industrial and municipal wastewater. The transaction included all intellectual property, more than 60 employees and one production site located in Athlone, Ireland.
Standex Refrigerated Solutions Group named Erik Meyer vice president of finance. Meyer will oversee the RSG finance team across the Master-Bilt and Nor-Lake brands within the Refrigerated Solutions Group.
Petro-Canada Lubricants, a HollyFrontier business, introduced an automatic lubricator, Grease-N-Go, for its Purity FG, Precision and Peerless product lines. The lubricators are intended to help plant operators protect equipment with minimal downtime.
Thad Schuster was promoted to corporate sales and service manager for ProChemTech International Inc., Brockway, Pa. He succeeds Vickie Jacklin, who retired after 28 years’ service with the company. Schuster will work with sales and marketing employees on a national basis, develop additional accounts in the Brockway area, and be responsible for maintaining customer field service for the provider of integrated water management programs for boiler, cooling tower, process and wastewater systems.
Spray-drying equipment will account for one-third of industrial dryer sales over the next seven years, attributable to its high energy output, says Fact.MR. The market research firm predicts that the spray-drying equipment market will register a modest CAGR of 4 percent over the forecast period (2019-2027).
Other takeaways from its market report include predictions that:
- Eight out of 10 spray dryers are used an indirect operation that requires hot air for drying, which is formed by burning fossil fuel.
- Food and chemicals are established market segments for spray-drying equipment. Together, they account for approximately a two-thirds share in global spray-drying equipment market.

Chris Weirman was named technical director for Wall Colmonoy’s European headquarters. Weirman joined Wall Colmonoy Ltd. in July 2019, with more than 25 years’ experience in chemistry, materials science and manufacturing. He has a strong background in product and technology research and development.
Valmet will supply an Advantage tissue-production line, including a de-inking plant and an automation package, to Alas Doradas in El Salvador. The order also includes a service center agreement to support efficient production with Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). The startup is planned for the first half of 2021. Alas Doradas is one of three main manufacturers of tissue paper in Central America.
Global engineering company Renishaw will collaborate with Sandvik Additive Manufacturing to qualify new additive manufacturing (AM) materials for production applications. The agreement encompasses a range of metal powders, including alloy compositions optimized for the laser powder-bed fusion (LPBF) process. Sandvik has worked with Renishaw AM systems since 2018 at its Additive Manufacturing Division.
A manufacturer of ion exchange, catalyst, adsorbent, and specialty resins, Purolite Corp. relocated its global headquarters to King of Prussia, Pa., approximately 11 miles northwest of its former location in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
