Registration is open for IHEA's Fundamentals of Industrial Process Heating online course, which will be held April 13-May 24. Students will gain a basic understanding of heat transfer principles, combustion equipment, electric heating and instrumentation and controls.

The six-week online course provides an overview of the fundamentals of heat transfer, fuels and combustion, energy use, furnace design, refractories, automatic control and atmospheres as applied to industrial process heating.

Each week students will be assigned a chapter to read from Fundamentals of Industrial Process Heating and will be expected to participate in online forum discussions and complete weekly quizzes. There is also a final exam project that will be assigned during the fifth week of class. The instructor will be available via email to respond to questions and provide clarification.
