Aerodynamic flow control valves provide Cv/size ratios previously not offered in cage-guided control valves, according to the manufacturer. The valve design reduces flow turbulence and valve-generated noise. As a “smart” valve, Aeroflow has an optional dead zone I/O for accurate, stable pressure measurements. The valves also have digital positioning. The shut-off characteristics are safeguarded by the company’s “protected” seat design, which has been in use in power plant service for more than 20 years. The valves exceed ANSI Class VI shut-off, and the pressure-energized pilot-balanced plug provides zero cc/min leak rates to prevent seat erosion and wire drawing. The pilot design eliminates the need for piston seals to ensure tight shut-off. All trim modules are field interchangeable. The valves are suited for use in combination with desuperheating systems and for power plant and industrial applications.
