A manufacturer of plumbing systems will utilize a conveyor oven to dry cast iron cores at 400°F (204°C).

Designed and supplied by Lewco Inc., the oven has a direct-fired natural gas heater box with a capacity of 700,000 BTU/hr. A 7,000-cfm circulation fan and integral plenums deliver uniform vertical-down airflow throughout the oven workspace. Two insulated bolt-on access panels ease entry to the oven chamber for service and maintenance.

The oven includes a programmable logic controller (PLC) and touchscreen HMI, which incorporates temperature, safety and motion abilities into a single operator interface. A Eurotherm 3216 temperature controller with a redundant high limit controller provides precise temperature control and over-temperature protection.
