Babcock & Wilcox’s B&W Thermal segment will design, manufacture and supply superheater components for a universal-pressure supercritical boiler at Luminant’s Oak Grove Power Plant near Franklin, Texas. The facility provides low emissions power to more than 1 million central Texas homes and businesses.

Components will be manufactured in B&W’s Monterrey, Mexico, facility, and material delivery is scheduled for February 2021. The universal pressure boilers are designed to operate at steam-outlet temperatures of approximately 1100°F (593°C) and at supercritical pressures.
