A food manufacturer will use two custom hot-water-heated tote cabinets to heat 55-gal drums. The cabinets, which have a maximum temperature rating of 300°F (149°C), include a 336 ft2 heat exchanger with a high efficiency circulating fan to evenly distribute airflow throughout the workspace.
Equipment supplier Lewco Inc., Sandusky, Ohio, also provided integral water heaters located remotely from the cabinets. The water heaters can be started or stopped from the main cabinet control panel.
Due to sanitation requirements, the hot boxes were constructed with stainless steel and seal-welded for washdown capability. As part of Lewco’s quality system, the hot boxes were shipped with a protective wrap to prevent damage.
