Citing gains in U.S. market share in 2021, management at Miura America promoted several key executives and added team members throughout the company.

Paul O’Donnell was promoted to executive vice president for Miura America. O’Donnell began working with Miura as a regional sales manager in 2005. 

Arne Irwin was promoted to vice president strategy. Irwin’s responsibilities include guiding strategic development while continuing his work with Steam as a Service, a program to deliver fully controlled steam for a single monthly fee. He also will oversee marketing and business development.

Andy Miller joins Miura as vice president maintenance operations. A combat veteran of the U.S. Army, Miller served as an engineer and achieved the rank of captain.

Eddie Everson was named plant manager for the U.S. manufacturing operations in Rockmart, Ga.

Kiyo Sato will serve as the new lead on global account development. Sato has 15 years with Miura creating and implementing business strategies for current and new multiple installation customers.

Recent FDA enforcement policy supports the use of environmental chambers manufactured by Tenney Environmental, a division of Thermal Product Solutions, for bioburden reduction on N95 respirators during the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency. The use of dry heat processing to reduce the risk of transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and limited reuse of NIOSH-approved filtering face-piece respirators, were cited in the FDA guidance.


 

Charlotte-based SPX Flow Inc. acquired mixing solutions provider Philadelphia Mixing Solutions Ltd. from Thunder Basin Corp., an affiliate of Wind River Holdings L.P. The Philadelphia Mixing Solutions brand will operate as part of the SPX Flow mixing-solutions portfolio, which includes APV, Plenty, Stelzer and Uutechnic brands. The all-cash transaction valued at $65 million closed in May.


 

Atlas Copco acquired a majority share of Eco Steam and Heating Solutions, an industrial steam and hot water boiler company located in the Netherlands. The company develops, rents and sells customized industrial boiler assemblies tailored for plug-and-play installation. Eco Steam and Heating Solutions serves European customers, primarily in the food and beverage, chemical, steel, pharmaceutical and energy sectors. Eco Steam and Heating Solutions will become part of Atlas Copco's Specialty Rental Division within the company’s power techniques business area. 


 

 

 

JSW Steel contracted Fives to design and supply two reheating furnaces for its new hot-strip mill at Dolvi works in the state of Maharashtra. The furnaces reportedly have the highest capacity installed in India to date — each 450 tonnes per hour — and have high environmental performance and low fuel consumption. Despite limitations created by the pandemic, the two companies successfully discharged the first hot slab from the reheating furnace in late March.


 

The steam engineering business of Thermax has partnered with a pharma company to support its COVID vaccine project. Two products from Thermax’s InstaHeat line were customized and supplied for a cooling application at the customer’s lyophilizer plant. The system provides precise temperature control required for the production process as per the plant load.
