A manufacturer of iron cookware ordered a conveyor oven that will be used to cure a proprietary coating at 475°F (246°C). Lewco Inc. will design and develop the continuous curing oven, which will be rated for a maximum operating temperature of 500°F (260°C).

The proposed design includes a single direct-fired natural gas heater box with a 700,000 BTU/hr capacity. The burner will be configured for propane fuel upon delivery, but the cookware manufacturer will work with Lewco to convert it to natural gas in the future as its facility changes. A high efficiency circulation fan and integral plenums will deliver uniform vertical-down airflow throughout the workspace.

Adjustable insulated panels will be installed on the entrance and exit openings to minimize air leakage into the plant. An insulated access panel on the sidewall will ease access to the oven chamber for service and maintenance.
